Jehangir Sabavala

This morning I learnt that Jehangir Sabavala is no more, I am one of his many admirers and I remember having met him very briefly when I visited his exhibition at Jehangir Art Gallery, Bombay way back in the mid 1980s; I do not recall the exact year. A colleague from my office had accompanied me and he happened to carry his camera. There were lots of visitors at the exhibition but I was able to talk to the great artist briefly. My colleague suggested that I pose for a photograph with Mr. Sabavala, the artist readily obliged.

Jehangir Sabavala was a lively person, a thorough gentleman and sharing a few moments with him was an honour. I love his work and I always felt that he painted his pictures with a great deal of care. His paintings do have an influence of cubism but are yet different, they are products of his own unique style which he had evolved. He was truly one of India's greatest painters who will continue to inspire generations of painters to come.

Mussoorie and Dhanaulti

Some images from Mussoorie and Dhanaulti, Uttarakhand.
Dhanaulti is located about 27 kilometers from Mussoorie. We visited this place in the month of March this year. We learnt that it has snowed quite a lot in Mussoorie this winter but the snow had melted long before we visited Mussoorie, however we did see small heaps of solidified snow in Dhanaulti which were still in the process of melting.

Sahastradhara, Dehradun, Uttarakhand

Sahastradhara is 11 kms  from Dehradun. Numerous natural springs collect to form a stream, the water contains sulphur and said to have therapeutic properties.

Dilli Haat -- Some images

There are two places in Delhi I would always like to return to, one is the National Gallery of Modern Art and the other is Dilli Haat.

There are several Dilli Haats situated in various parts of the city, the main one is near INA Market and that is the one I visited. What attracts me here are the different kind of cuisines that are available, the place needs few visits in order to try out different kinds of food.

Ganga Darshan

Today I have launched this blog in addition to Advertising Opinions which has been in existence for over a year.Yours Artistically is basically a photo and video blog, since I am an artist I will also cover art from time to time as well.
My first post is based on my recent trip to Uttarakhand in North India, the focus is the sacred River Ganga. During this trip I also happened to visit Mussourie, I will also share some photos and video of Mussourie as well in my later post.

Har-ki-Pauri in Haridwar, this was clicked in the evening.

Har-ki-Pauri, the Ganga Temple.

Ganga Arti at Har-ki-Pauri, Haridwar.

The taxi driver told us that the Ganga waters seen at Hari-kiPauri is actually a canal built to divert part of the Ganga waters. The original Ganga stream is what is shown above. The driver also told us that the original Hari-ki-Pauri is situated on the other side.

While clicking pictures of the Ganga in the morning at sunrise I noticed interesting cloud formations above the Shivalik mountains.

I would like to call this feather in the cap.

I would recommend Hotel Laxman Jhula Divine Resorts, the view is great, the food is tasty, service is good and they also have a bakery shop.
